Give to La Course de l'espoir
The Quebec Lung Association wishes to acknowledge and congratulate the commitment of Mélanie Duclos, a member of our Circle of Heroes for six years now.
It was after her father died of a rare autoimmune disease called scleroderma that Melanie organized an event in her memory: La Course de l’espoir. Since it was the state of her father’s lungs that allowed the doctors to make the diagnosis, Melanie decided to hand over all the profits to the Quebec Lung Association.
Last year, the event gathered a total of 344 runners and walkers, under a beautiful sun. On-site, several courses were available for the whole family, as well as inflatable games for children.
Thanks to the perseverance of Mrs. Duclos, as well as the generosity of her volunteers, La Course de l’espoir raised more than $ 5,000, which allows the Quebec Lung Association to pursue its core mission of education, outreach, direct service and support for research.
The success of the event encouraged the project’s promoter to renew La Course de l’espoir, for a sixth consecutive year, on April 19, 2020, in Sorel-Tracy.
